One of the biggest issues I believe I'm going to encounter in my final task is the editing process. While I am unable to film, I've taken the time to start studying and watching youtube videos in order to help me understand my editing program better. I use Adobe Premiere Pro, and before this year I had only used Final Cut Pro. It was a big transition moving from Final Cut to Premiere, but I do think my work has benefited from it. Since I am both new to my editing software and the techniques I hope to use in this film, I've been taking the time to learn from others. I was able to film the first shots of the train itself, so I've been playing around with editing it and thinking of things I could do for the rest of my film. Probably my biggest inspiration for editing in this opening sequence is Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. Much of the editing in that movie is based on video games. I have just watched it again recently, and it helped me understand some of the things I can do in my final task to covey the message I want to. I'm scared that this editing will be much harder than what I am able to do. I can't tell if it's just something that looks really hard and professional and is actually quite simple to do, or if looks and is quite complicated to achieve. Slowly, I'm learning, and I believe I'm improving. My brother is still working, so I have not been able to film most of my final task yet. I was able to get a couple scenes done, but the majority will have to wait until my brother is free for now. This weekend will be the first filming session, so I will get more to edit and have more things to do. Slowly but surely, things are coming along.
Until next time, Danniella Miller signing off. :)
